Cacciucco, or kuciuck, a Turkish word meaning small was used to describe a dish where all the ingredients were cut into small pieces.
In Tuscany the word came to mean a dish in which several things are mixed together.
A variation of the Livorno-Style recipe is the one called, ‘alla Viareggina’, Viareggio - Style Cacciucco with theaddition of mussels, clams and shellfish.
