PANETTONE & PANDORO
Panettone & Pandoro Tuscan Sweet Bread
Panettone and Pandoro are typical sweet breads well known during the Christmas festivities.
Famous are the ones of Veneto and Lombardia Regions, but in Tuscany there is an important tradition of these breads created and promoted even today by the traditions of some small families dedicated to their specialities since many years.
Our preferred are the ones created by La Molina di Quarrata, the ones of Corsini in Castel del Piano in the Grosseto area, the incredibles sold by Stefano Martelli in his small workshop in Ponte ad Egola and of course the Panettone Perondi by Mr. Paolo Gazzarrini in San Miniato in the Province of Pisa.
Don't forget the Panfrutto of Massimo Ciolini in Carmignanello nearby Cantagallo in Prato area (a particular not too sweet panettone with fruits, like strawberries and raspberries) and the unique Giulebbe ideated by Paolo Palchetti in Prato - famous for his Pesche di Prato in his Nuovo Mondo pastry shop in Prato. The Giulebbe is an althernative of the classic panettone, in a rectangular shape, with walnuts, Carmignano figs & pinuts.
