Jams & Conserves

MARMALADES & CONSERVES

 

In Tuscany there are many small producers who produce excellent jams and conserves, but made only with genuinity without preservatives and also with the addition of spices and great aromas.

 

Marmalade is made by cooking together fruit and sugar. A true marmellata is made strictly with citrus fruits while a confettura (conserve) is made with other fruits. Another difference between the two is that jams must not be passed through a food mill and the added percentage of sugar.
