Truffles
Tuscany is an important truffle, tartufo, hunting area along with other regions in Italy such as the Marche and the famous Piemonte. The truffle season runs through the fall during the months of October and November.
The areas of San Giovanni d’Asso, Mugello and especially San Minato (Pisa area) are the best known in Tuscany.
During the season it’s typical to see markets, auctions and festivals dedicated to this rare and delicious fungus as you can see checking the list of the events between October and November.
