PARKS IN TUSCANY
If you want to enjoy your weekend immersed in unspoilt country, Tuscany’s parks offer endless possibilities.
There really is something for everyone, from the parks of the archipelago to those on the Apennines, from the glory of the Casentino forests to the archaeological sites.
With over 6% of its territory designated as parkland or nature reserve Tuscany is Italy’s greenest region.
The Tuscan Islands Marine Park (including the islands of Capraia, Giannutri, Gorgona and Montecristo, part of Elba, of Giglio and the whole Island of Pianosa), the Tosco-Emilian Appenine National Park (North of Florence), the Regional Park of Apuan Alps, the Migliarino, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli Park in Pisa area, the Parco della Maremma also called Uccellina Park, the Val D’Orcia Park and the Parks of the Etruscan Coast South of Livorno are among the most famous parks in Tuscany.
