Cherries from Lari

The cherry from Lari, although it may change according to the variety of tree, is a firm fruit, bright red in colour and very sweet.

It’s an indigenous fruit from the Pisa area.

There are about 36 producers of Lari cherries, not only in the comune of Lari but also in Cevoli, Usigliano, Lavoiano, Perignano, San Ruffino di Lari and in the woods of Lari.

Each year about 150cwt is produced and the majority are sold in the markets of Tuscany.
